The Role
The job role was very interesting and varied considerably over the weeks and months. I personally enjoyed the work I did during my placement.
There was a great community spirit within our team and everyone at the company was extremely understanding and made me feel like a valued member of team.
Team give me a lot of support when I first started my placement and I was also able to learn the job role from the previous placement student which was an added bonus. The team was always there willing to help me when in need and they were very supportive towards me.
As I mentioned earlier the job role varied consistently and so did the amount of work I received. On some days I had a lot of work to get done and on other days it was generally less busy.
I was given more responsibility while I was on placement as the managers and the team I was working around me began to trust me and high standard of work I produced.
I was appointed a graduate mentor and also had a team mentor who supported me and I was able to talk to them on a regular basis. My communication skills and time management skills improved considerably. I was also able to get advise about my final year dissertation topic and also gather research material as well.
The Company
This was one of the best things about my placement company. As it was a large organisation there were a lot of other students in the same situation as I was. There was a great social scene during lunch hours at the canteen and also off work we all regularly kept in touch.
It was very well organised in terms of giving a placement student a wide range of duties and responsibility.
They invested a lot of time training and educating me about the company products and services also my personal development.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I worked hard and gave it 100% during my placement year, however because of the high demand for a graduate place in the company I will have to give it a fight to get in!
The Culture
Brilliant!!
Generally it was expensive since my placement was based in London.
There was always something happening at work, whether it was birthday party or just a get together
Gym, social clubs and also local sports teams
