    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • BT gave so many opportunities to learn. The strongest skills developed so far were from placement year.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was very friendly. My team was like my family. We always support each other and never let anyone to struggle with work.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Regular meetings with manager did provide a lot of support and guidance though my placement. Everyone is busy but if you need a meeting then it is not a big problem to find the time for it.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would say there was time when I was very busy and there were days when you really looking for anything to do. But most of the time you are really busy and focused on your work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • There was responsibility given but nothing like running the show. We are just interns and it is fair not to make people very responsible who are going to leave in a year. But when I was leaving I had to transfer some work to my colleagues.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Lots of technology skills learned. I am really proud that I was working at BT.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was great fun. I really miss those days now.

  • It was quite organised. No one was left alone. There is always someone to help.

  • There are learning tools that you can use at any time. On-line training, books etc.. It is all available and it is only up to you whether use it or not.

  • In my area you can always find a good place to go and not expensive at all.

  • Awesome. Glasgow is big.

  • Lots of opportunities. Corporate social responsibility is very developed at BT
