The Role
A fantastic introduction into an industry I had little experience in.
Everyday, I received encouragement, feedback and thanks for the work I did.
Managers where always available to provide feedback and support when asked.
Always felt busy but not overworked. On the odd lull in work, there were always other work opportunities to explore.
I was one of the first to be trained on a new database system, so it was fun learning together and sharing my experiences with more senior members of staff.
I learned how to work effectively on a project with people I wasn't familiar with. I also improved my presentation and improvisation skills.
The Company
Very easy going and despite being hard at work, there is always time to stop to celebrate someone's birthday (usually by means of a slice of cake).
I was never left wondering what I was supposed to be doing or where I was suppose to go. Very well put together and lots of opportunities to exchange internship experiences with the HR / Internship staff.
I was invited to meet many experienced staff members giving me a chance to build my networks early.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I was able to extend my internship contract after the initial period, which I was thrilled about.
The Culture
Plenty of social occasions with the other interns several times a week.
It's London, so it was London prices everywhere. You can still have a economical night if you choose the deal and offer nights.
London and everything it has to offer is on your doorstep.
Every lunchtime and plenty of advertised activities after work to get involved with.
