The Role
The internship was a great insight into life within the insurance market and the work was challenging but I also had fun whilst working at Lloyd's.
Everyone at Lloyd's seemed to be very welcoming of interns and were all very keen to give help and advice when I approached them.
My manager would set me projects which were challenging but would always be there to give me guidance on where I could improve.
The workload was tended to be quite steady the whole way through the internship.
I was given responsibility of my own projects during the internship but had guidance and advice given at intervals during the projects.
The skills developed will be extremely useful later on in working life, such as workplace etiquette, conversating with people of all ages and working within a team to achieve a goal.
The Company
The insurance market is a very sociable environment to work in and my team had a lot of fun whilst working hard at the same time.
The internship was excellently organised throughout, with a great induction process, a clear program of what I would be doing throughout and an appraisal at the end to talk about my progess during the internship.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a place on their graduate scheme as a result of my performance during the internship.
The Culture
Yes, after work drink were organised regularly by my team or by all the interns so we could socialise.
The City of London is a very expensive place to go out but because the internship is paid this is fine.
There are an endless amount of bars and a few clubs nearby. There is also a bar in the Lloyd's building which was a bonus.
