The Role
Europanel are a brilliant company to work for. I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody who is looking for a placement within a market research company. They have a number of multinational companies for clients and work within an International environment with consumer data coming from panels all over the world. I really enjoyed my time spent there, everyone within the company is friendly and supportive and great to work with.
I felt very valued by my colleges and the company. Gradually my levels of responsibility increased as they saw my performance, to such an extent that they kept me on for 3 months after my placement was due to finish, working on different projects.
I always felt that there was a lot of support coming from my supervisor. If ever I needed her help or was having any issues she was always more than willing to help me.
In my position the work load varied daily, due to deliveries of marketing data. This fluctuation of work allowed me to plan my time well and to be well organised. I never felt bored, or over worked.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility for someone working on a placement. I never felt like I had been given too much, or out of my depth. At the same time i didn't feel like I was given to little either.
The experience and training i received has greatly shaped my studies since finishing the placement. For example, despite being near the end of my placement, Europanel were still wiling to give me training on Project management, which i have taken forward into my studies.
The Company
The office was great to work in. There was a good balance of characters within the office which made it a really nice environment to work in. As well as this physically the environment was incredibly nice and modern. The design is very open so that you can usually see other people, rather than being shut off in a room.
The placement was very well organised.
The firm were willing to invest in me. I received on the job training as well as attending a lot of presentations regarding the market research field. I also received project management training, despite it being near the end of my employment.

I am hoping that there may be work for when I finish, as i would love to return there. However it may be dependant on the clients creating this work.
The Culture
There was a great social scene. Each month there would be arranged socials from the social team. As well as this we would often go for drinks after work. The company arranged a number of nights out at places such as London Zoo and going to see The Lion King.
I was living at home, which meant I saved some money, but the cost of commuting, and the fact that it is London makes it more expensive.
Directly around the location of the company there is very little night life. This said, they are in London where you are only a tube stop away from good night life.
There were lots of opportunities. I myself arranged the Europanel Football team. As well as this there were volunteering opportunities, nights out, charity raffles, bake offs...
