The Role
It was very enjoyable and rewarding. It was for an excellent cause and allowed me to develop skills for the future.
My colleagues were helpful and friendly.
My manager was really helpful and took the time to ensure I had enough/interesting work to do.
For the majority of the time I had a good balance of work, I never felt overwhelmed and too pressurised with work. On one or two days, I could have had more to do, however, I was always given more work when I asked for it.
I was trusted with tasks that would reflect on the charity and given responsibility you might not expect as an intern.
I believe that the skills I have developed during my internship will allow me to get a good job in the future.
The Company
The office was fun and certain colleagues were great to talk to and have fun with. Could be a bit quiet on occasions.
The internship programme was very well organised and allowed interns to get to know each other and the organisation before formally starting.
There wasn't formal training but my department made sure my tasks allowed me to develop skills I have identified at the beginning of the internship as things I wanted to expand upon.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I would work for them in the future.
The Culture
There was plenty of opportunities to socialise with fellow interns and my department had team lunch once a week and regularly went for a drink after work on a Friday.
It was in London and was unpaid (other than travel and lunch) therefore the cost was high!
I was based in Angel which has good nightlife in itself along with great restaurants and a couple of cinemas. plus it is close to both central london and shoreditch.
There were lots of fundraising opportunities and activities for interns that were keen to get involved.
