The Role
Really enjoyed working at CRUK, given me a great insight into the charity sector.
My team have been amazing, very supportive and kept me involved the whole way through. The wider team at CRUK have also been extremely supportive and everyone I've met and spoken to during my internship has been so appriciative of the hard work I've put in.
My manager has supported and guided me during my time at CRUK. Always explaining taks thoroughly, but also if I was ever unsure I felt comfortable enough to ask for help. After only a few days I was given responibility on guiding my own projects.
In the run up to our events I was extremely busy, working additional hours to get the final preparations completed. Deadlines and timescales have meant my using my time management skills to the maximum!
I was set my own project and although I know there is always help if I need it, I have been left to do it myself, which has been great experience!
I've learnt so many new skills, and gained valuable experience within the charity sector! It has given me a focus on the direction I want my career to head.
The Company
Some areas of the office were quiter than others, everyone seems to be really involved and hard working within their teams. Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere throughout
Brilliantly, the Volunteering team but on two induction days for us before our placement started which gave us information about CRUK and how their work funds research. It was also a great opportunity to meet and get to know the other interns on the placement. Throughout the internship there was always someone to talk to if there were any issues. There was also additional CV and interview training - which was very informative!
CV and interview training days which were extremely informative. Also an internship pack which we had to complete throughout our placements on the skills learnt and developed (personal development pack)
