The Role
A great experience- fulfilling work and a perfect opportunity to gain an insight into the firm. Lovely people too!
The work was mostly of a high quality, and I was treated as competent to do things a starting trainee would do.
I was well instructed and was able to do everything effectively as a result.
On some days there was a lot to do, whereas on others less so. However, there was always some work to be found; the slower days generally led to less interesting work though.
While I wasn't given too much client exposure, certain tasks were fairly noteworthy.
Degree skills- not helped much, there was very little that would further my academic work. Beyond- very useful in giving an insight into the kind of work Mayer Brown does.
The Company
Depends on the department, but the atmosphere was mostly good.
Lots of social events, lots of opportunities to meet partners / trainees.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Would love to work here.
The Culture
Good atmosphere, friendly people. Admittedly sometimes the long hours meant we weren't able to go through with all our evening plans- can be quite tiring.
Bars expensive, food not the cheapest. Subsidised restaurant though.
Some optional football / cricket with associates, bowling with trainees.
