The Role
It was a fantastic experience which far exceeded my expectations
Everybody is extremely welcoming to placement students and make a really great effort to help you settle into your role, everyone is willing to listen to your opinions and views.
I had a fantastic Manager who really dedicated himself to mentoring me throughout my placement year, he took the time to have meetings with me daily or when ever necessary to help guide me and teach the correct ways of working. he empowered me to go out and really do things on my own and was there behind me every step of the way, supporting me and guiding me through decision making and liaising with B2B customers
I always had something to do that made a difference to the business or to the team i was working within. I was never left feeling like i had nothing to do and other departments i.e marketing or sales are happy to give you work to get a balance.
I was given big responsibility within the sales/account manager team, where I had the amazing opportunity to manage my own accounts this was fantastic experience for me and my manager and team around me supported me and helped me to learn quickly giving me the confidence to really succeed in the role. the great thing about Groupe Seb is that if you want responsibility and to progress they will help you achieve this if you show a willingness to learn and to listen. The responsibilities that I was given helped me grow in confidence and opened my eyes to the real business environment
the placement allowed me to put into practice what i had learnt in my first two years at university. however it went above and beyond this, I feel that the placement at Seb taught me more then I could have learnt just at university, and I have put into practice skills I learnt at Groupe seb in my last year an university, for example presentation skills, thorough analysis and critical evaluation
The Company
great working atmosphere. most people got along brilliantly and everybody made new staff feel extremely welcome.
when I first arrived I had a full induction program to introduce me to everybody in the offices, as well as product training, process training. the Organisation really helped in making me feel welcome and settling into my new role.
I had consistent training and support from many managers within the business and I really felt that my manager especially wanted to pass on his knowledge to me, and wanted me to grow as a business professional.

I think that if you show enthusiasm and excel within the roles you are given there is a great chance of future employment, they have previously given former placement students permanent roles.
The Culture
there were anywhere between 6-12 placement students at any one time while I was working for Seb which makes fitting in a lot easier. all the interns generally had lunch together in the kitchen everyday and we often went out for drinks after work - this was often with some of our bosses. it was a fantastic place to work on a social level.
Windsor is an expensive place to live however the surrounding areas of slough seem to be cheaper
the night life was fantastic, many nice pubs and bars and clubs in the area!
there were opportunities through out the year to get involved in Seb's chosen charity
