The Role
I really enjoyed working in the Edinburgh office. The co-workers were always willing to help and made me feel comfortable from the first day. i would definitely recommend doing an internship in this office
The colleagues all appreciated any work I carried out and were very helpful in explaining anything I did not understand
The managers and all the staff were really friendly and always willing to help!
During the summer months audit is generally not very busy so at times I did not have much to do.
I managed to go out to a few client sites where I was actually allowed to carry out some of the controls testing myself.
It gave me a really good idea of what a career in audit would entail
The Company
It was quite at times, especially when colleagues were out at client sites.
It was very organised from the induction to the first day in the office. All the staff were made aware of the new interns and we were allocated onto different projects from the very beginning
There was a 2 day induction at the Birmingham office and the manager went through a lot of the software etc.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I've managed to secure a graduate job for 2015! They were happy to defer my job offer till then as I plan to travel for a year after graduation.
The Culture
I regularly socialised with the other interns and there were a few social events organised by the department too. The colleagues even took us out for lunch on the first day!
Edinburgh can be a little expensive
There are a variety of bars and clubs to choose from
There were a few socials that were organised
