The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year at Tech Data
All of my colleagues were really supportive, in my direct team and with others in the office who I worked with on a daily basis
I had great supprt from my manager, whilst also being able to take responsibility in my role
The role varied from day to day as you could be really busy when you had a deadline approaching and then less busy between deadlines
I was given a good amount of responsibility to make changes to the processes where necessary as well as with daily duties
Working under pressure to meet deadlines has increased my organisation skills which has really helped in final year where there is a lot of work to manage
The Company
The general atmosphere was great, everyone was willing to have fun whilst working at the same time with casual dress every Friday which gives you a relaxed feeling heading into the weekend, making Friday more enjoyable to work for everyone
The placement was very well set up with meeting for all of the interns throughout to ensure everyone was fitting in and getting as much from the placement as possible
They provided training for everyone in various areas which you could nominate yourself for if you felt you needed additional training. My personal development was improved through letting me take responsibility for the role, increasing my confidence in my abilities
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
The Culture
Great social scene with placement students, interns and the rest of the colleagues too
Plenty of opportunities as they ran a Charity Committee which organised events as well as a Social Committee organising plenty of events such as BBQ's and Go-Karting
