The Role
Greatly enjoyed the culture and atmosphere within the company. The intern community was second to known and the majority of staff are extremely friendly.
Felt very valued by the lady I worked directly inline with. Lacked full involvement with the rest of the travel team, may have been as they were all based in the US.
Alot of support and guidance was given. The area of my placement that I could not fault!
Varied- Some days really busy, however a large percentage of the time I was dragging out the minimal work I had. I did bring this up, immediately changed, but soon when the busy period was over, went back the the way it was previously.
Limited responsibility, was given limited responsibility to join meetings with suppliers on our main deals. Lacked depth in the type of work I was doing.
I have developed many soft skills. However I still feel they are not at the level they could have been developed too.
The Company
Sat around 4 grads and 3 interns, really enjoyed this part of my placement.
Cracking placement- 63 interns, brilliant community within the office. Brilliant social life as well!
Plenty of online training available if completed by yourself. In terms of face to face training and development, very little. Although I do not feel the work I was being given required high amounts of training.
Sports and Social Club
Above 25 days holiday
Would definitely come back to HP- As long as the opportunity allowed me to develop myself in areas further than this one has enabled me too. Speaking to other interns, I feel I may have got a little unlucky with the organisation of my role.
The Culture
Cannot fault the social side of this placement!
Compared to what I am used too at uni. House rental is a bargain!
Average at best- Compared to uni anyway!
Yes, weekly football, Three Peaks, Half Marathons, Palace to Palace. Plenty.
