    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I didn't really enjoy it. The hours were way to long, I felt as though I wasn't learning anything and that I was just doing a 'job' rather than benefitting.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were really nice and supportive.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We were meant to train on a weekly basis, however due to the nature of the job, I very rarely got training.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was extremely busy. Working 12 hour days was usual and it wasn't uncommon to go without lunch, or at least have a very short/late lunch.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given some responability, dealing with some accounts and driving customers but nothing to managerial.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Small, blend, porto-cabin styled office. At times very quiet as all the staff were busy out of the office driving.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I think it was fairly organised but the training never got done, so when at HR I was always behind on my 'Training folder' as were my peers.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Healthcare from home

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 0/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The other placement students were great, they made it.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very cheap in the midlands.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Didn't have time. Worked 6 day weeks and 60+ hours on a regular basis.

    2/5
