The Role
Overall I enjoyed my work placement.
For the duration of my placement I felt valued by my management team. Although only being on a placement scheme I did not feel undervalued because of this and was made to feel like a very big part of the team.
I felt I received different levels of support depending on the supervisor or manager. Overall I always felt that there was someone I could talk to if I needed any support. The HR department was very good and I would definitely advise people to contact the HR Officer in charge of placement students if they needed any support as she was always very helpful.
Sometimes it did feel the work got a little bit repetitive, however; there was always opportunity to take on different work and responsibility and would recommend anyone who was feeling bored to talk to their superior or HR Officer as there is opportunities to be taken advantage of.
The amount of responsibility I was given during my placement really exceeded my expectation. I was very quickly given responsibility of a whole unit and even a whole site at times. You are also responsible for between 10/20 staff. There is also huge opportunity for more responsibility which management are more than happy to give you if you ask.
During my placement there were numerous courses and workshops that I was sent on that I felt really developed my skills. These included first aid training, managing performance and managing absence courses. There was training and meetings to review my development that I felt were sometimes ignored or rushed and would recommend anyone with a similar problem to contact the HR Officer or their general manager.
The Company
I had the pleasure of working with some great people who it was a great experience to work with. I did sometimes feel that people around me were a bit de-motivated and stressed out due to work load. Overall I would say the atmosphere was good at work.
I felt overall it was organised well there were many workshop days that I went to along with many courses. Placement students were given development books to record training at the beginning, however; I felt these were sometimes ignored or rushed by managers.
The company paid for many training days and courses that I attended and were always happy to pay for travel and overnight stay if required.

Future employment prospects are very appealing with the company. Moto really care about the development of their own and most of the managersgeneral mangersdirectors had started at the very bottom of the organisation and worked their way up. It was very motivating and refreshing to see this and I generally feel that if you put the work in with Moto you will reap the rewards.
The Culture
Placement students were based all over the UK so it wasn't easy for there to be a good social scene between us. We did however all meet up for workshops and had a meal at the end of the scheme that the company generously paid for.
