The Role
Thrown in to store time with little training. Store manager didn't set a side time to train and therefore began difficulty.
During my store time I saw my direct leader twice and we spoke for less than 5 minutes.
My management team i.e. area manager and director gave me little or no feedback during my placement as to how I was performing.
Time moved quickly as there was always things to do. Often there would be too much to do so overtime was necessary.
During store a large amount of responsibility is given if you take it. During head office time projects are given with a vast variance in responsibility.
People and management skills are gained tremendously during the placement.
The Company
Serious but had a laugh at times.
At times placement students were unaware of what departments they were meant to be in as were the department leaders.
Little or no training was given.
Potential to gain entrance onto the graduate scheme appears to be around 20%
The Culture
During store time no contact was made however during head office time it became more friendly and lunches etc were organised.
Optimal
Optimal
There was nothing.
