The Role
I have enjoyed my placement as I have gained many new skills and experience.
My store team was very welcoming and friendly. I had a great relationship with my team. I felt valued during my store time.
My area manager and store management team were both supportive and helpful. There was always someone there if I had a problem.
I was always busy as there were many jobs to be done therefore I was never bored.
You are given a huge amount of responsibility as soon as you start assistant manager training. I had the responsibility of running the store including managing staff, ordering stock for the store and controlling the store safe which contained large sum of money. I was given the opportunity to help with a Christmas project in head office where I had the responsibility to allocate Christmas stock from warehouse to stores.
I have gained many new skills and experience on my placement. It has allowed me to improve my organisation and management skills. Also I have become more confident.
The Company
The atmosphere was balance. We all worked hard as a team to get the job done and at times we had fun.
At the start of the placement I was given a training plan of what the year contained. My training plan changed slightly as I did 5 months in store and 7 months in head office as I helped with a Christmas project.
I received training throughout my store time and in head office I received training in each departments.

Above 25 days holiday
The placement progress to the company’s a graduate scheme. This depends on your performance during the placement.
The Culture
I did not see any of the placement students during store time. However being in head office has allowed us to socialise and get to know each other.
I lived home while I was on placement.
As I lived at home, I went out in Liverpool however I hardly went out as I was working long hours and nearly every weekend.
There were no opportunities to get involved in activities outside work.
