The Role
From my first day to the last I feel my capabilities were noticed and greater responsibilities given to me. Help was on hand whenever I required it and all emplyees are encouraged to branch out in work with other functions, broading knowledge and opportunities.
Even though there were continuous departmental changes, I feel I have handled the changes with ease and have been able to work with and form friendships with all of my collegues.
My manager gave me projects and guided me through them when I needed guidance. My manager had to travel while I was on my placement, however I feel my collegues and other managers could provide me with the same support. Very happy with support.
Generally had enough to be getting on with. Boredom would kick in if I had been doing the same task for a long period of time.
Developing global standard documents for all manufacturng sites, locating and communicating with new suppliers, raising purchase orders, all very positive responsibilities.
Learnt about all aspects of Local Purchasing and Global Supply. Including Corporate Strategies, Supply Strategies, current state of the markets, purchasing procedues and controls, the effect on all other functions and projects, supplier relationships, supply managers individual skills. My role itself allowed me to look into many different functions and global sites. I learnt how to communicate and adapt my approach to different conutries and cultures, and how to make my presence known and appreiciated. Very relevant to my degree topic and modules.
The Company
Friendly. Loud when collegues were not too busy.
Placement Organiser set up and checked in on all placements several times, as well as encouraging us to join in the company and social events, as well as joinging in herself.
We were taken on a development course in two parts, developing all skills such a leadership, time management and the like. My manager gave me opportunities to go on training course with the rest of my collegues to develop supply skill sets.
Sports and Social Club
Above 25 days holiday
The Culture
9 Placements all in the same situation.
Pretty average.
The minimum but there are places to go!
Plenty of sports opportunities and courses encouraged by collegues and the company.
