About You
It was a really good way to get to know BlackRock and what they do in investment management.
They were really happy with the turnout, and all very enthusiastic about having us there.
It was an insight day, so the guidance came from asking your own questions. However, in the case studies, the employees were really willing to help in the given time.
It was more using what you know, and then slightly pushed you further to see if you would be interested in BlackRock.
The Company
It all was planned very well, especially given it was the first. They knew what we were meant to be doing always.
Everyone seemed genuinely excited to have so many first years (second years on four year courses) that were interested in learning in BlackRock. They kept the talks very clear and understandable, and made an effort to relate to you being in that position.
Took time from their day to help us with case studies, and even have some employees just sit and collect our results.
There were three case studies, representing different areas of BlackRock. Gave us am idea of what each do, but they were very basic. There were no talks from different areas so the insight gave us only a basic intro.
They related very well to us, and really gave the impression of enjoying their job and BlackRock. It seemed everyone followed the principles closely making them count.
It gave me a better understand but it didn't help me decide what I already knew. It was focused on a genuine intro to BlackRock.
Everything Else
Reimbursed expenses were available
We had afternoon tea, but in a slightly small space meaning it was quite packed with few employees.
It was a day so only the tea.
Unless you asked, they didn't focus on this. We heard some interests of the employees but nothing about the activities that are done and can be done with the firm.
Definitely worth the time.
