About You
It was enjoyable, interesting and a pleasure to meet others interested in working in the financial industry.
I was invited to this event after failing to receive a spring week offer from BlackRock. I'm glad to have been invited along so that I could experience the company.
I was able to ask many questions, - all points were clarified
I didn't personally develop any new skills, however I imagine that for people who have not attended Assessment Centres before it would be a useful experience
The Company
The day was split into three games/tasks/activities, a presentation on the company, and a networking session
The BlackRock members were friendly and helpful. The group of students I was teamed with were largely from my university, so it was easy to get along with them.
I think that inviting a select few who failed to get into the spring week programme was a great idea. - Especially considering the amount of time that appellations take (it wasn't a waste)
The day was centred more around what the company does (in general terms)
The company culture was conveyed very well
It has reaffirmed my desire to work for BlackRock
Everything Else
Expenses up to £50 were covered for travelling to London
There was a special networking slot in the day, - however we were also able to approach staff throughout the day
There was a good mix of people (loads of staff members as well)
I didn't ask
Very useful if you want to gain an insight into the world of asset management and the culture at BlackRock
