The Role
I had a great time on my placement, where I met some lovely people who were always willing to help. I was made to feel comfortable in my working environment and didnt feel like I was just a student. I was given real responsibility, and I felt my opinions were listened to.
Everyone in the office, and who I worked with were lovely, and brightened up the working day.
If there was ever a problem, my manager was always there to help me.
How busy I was chnaged. At the start of my placement, I was busy because it took me a long time to get my work done, but as I got more confident, I managed to get my work done a lot quicker. I then managed to get involved in a number of large projects, which kept me very busy, but it was great to have an involvement in this.
I was given a lot of responsibility. I felt that people trusted me to do the right thing.
I have learnt so many skills which I couldnt have even imagined when I started my placement. Not only have I developed my knowledge of various subjects, I have become more confident, had experiance of working in a team and enjoyed myself along the way.
The Company
The office was a great environment. Everyone worked hard, but the different characters was great, which meant you had a good laugh while getting your work done.
The placement worked very well. From the interviews, which were the best I atteneded to my year there, it was very well organised. Although I felt apart of the team, we were also allowed to go off and get involved in student things, such as visiting our universities for placement fairs and presentations etc...
I feel that although I learnt a lot through my placement, towards the start, we were not given as much training as we could. As this would have cost money, I can understand why we did not receive this, due to the ecconomic position for companies.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I would be interested in a job here again, but I am not sure whether the re-employment rate is very high at this time.
The Culture
As there were a lot of placement students (about 60) then there were a lot of great social events arranged for the students, such as nights out, bbq's and various different sports.
As it is London area, it is more expensive compared to at Uni, but in the right places, its quite cheap.
In Uxbridge itself, it is ok, but obviously with links to London, you could easily travel in.
Yes, there are sports clubs such as football.
