About You
The week was well spaced out with opportunities for work shadowing and networking- I really enjoyed it.
The support I had from HR and the graduates I was shadowing really made me feel comfortable at RBS.
Everyone I met was really open to my questions and gave me their contacts if I had any further enquiries.
The training sessions really gave me a deeper understanding of the banking industry as well as useful skills in client relationship management. This is beneficial to both my academic and professional life.
The Company
I felt that the timing between each event was just right and there were breaks in between so we can restore our energy for the next activity. Our accommodation was also close to the RBS building so this was very convenient.
It was great opportunity to get to know more interns from many different universities and backgrounds. RBS created an atmosphere that was professional yet open and supportive.
RBS provided the first two days for training such as client relationship management, overview to investment banking, and trading stimulation. This can be seen as the foundation to our professional career.
By having speakers from different departments in RBS, we were able to gain a big picture of how the bank operates and see which ones we are really interested in.
There was a networking night where the deputy CEO as well as senior officials talked to us and gave a deeper understanding of the RBS' corporate culture.
By having the opportunity for work rotations in Capital Markets as well as Sales and Trading, this allowed me to know which division I want to go into.
