About You
The insight day was very well-structured and informative. I was able to take note of valuable advice and get a quick taste of the firm's different departments.
Even though there were plenty of us in attendance, everyone involved made it feel as though they wanted you to get the most out of the day and make sure you left the building with a greater sense of what BlackRock does and if it is a suitable career destination for you.
Questions were encouraged and the staff and graduates seemed very friendly and available.
I feel as though I am now more aware of the skills and personality they are looking for in candidates and will be sure to hone them as much as possible through my degree and extra-curricular activities.
The Company
Everything ran smoothly and nothing felt too crammed. I was genuinely shocked when I had heard that this was the first insight day they had planned.
Simply put, it was a really productive and fun day.
This question does not apply.
There were three business games which gave us a rough idea of the work carried out by graduates working at the firm.
Getting the company culture out there I think was their first priority. The presentation by Charles Prideaux was truly inspiring and memorable.
Though my mind was already set on investment management beforehand, I learned new aspects that have reinforced my career decision.
Everything Else
They reimburse you for a return journey ticket.
There was a 45 minute networking session with the graduates which allowed us to wind down and chat with others.
I would say the only negative thing to mention here is that the room was quite crowded which meant you had very little time to talk to the graduates
The firm has many admirable networks which any employee can get involved with.
A definite must if you are unsure about your career path or you are really interested in BlackRock and want to learn more.
