The Role
PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at General Motors prior to the amalgamation of Vauxhall and General Motors (The RateMyPlacement Team) Very enjoyable work environment with a good social life.
A lot of undergrads helped with a busy social life whilst the grads and employees where all very friendly.
I had appropriate guidance and was assigned a mentor.
Some days had little work, although I often found jobs to do.
There was a good amount of responsibility and I could see my reports being used for things such as costings of programmes or suppllying data to the government.
I feel I have developed a lot of skills and was given some good training, although I feel due to the problems the company had at the time of joining meant they were not running as much training as normal.
The Company
It was a very enjoyable office to work in.
The fact they had a role for undergrad recruitment meant we were well looked after.
There was good training, but I feel there could have been more.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I got a contract extension, and the company is very positive about it's grad scheeme.
The Culture
With about 70 of us and most living with each other a night out is very easy to plan!
It was medium.
The town is not great to go out in, although there are some nicer places not too far.
We organised a lot between the undergrads.
