About You
Very well planned series of networking events and exercises.
Not too highly at all. However, this was to be expected on a short insight placement.
Plenty of help and advice provided by the employees overseeing the insight.
Networking skills were focused on and provided good info on how to succeed at EY, but not necessarily how to get to the company.
The Company
Very well structured, good briefing for what we would be doing and plenty of points at which to raise questions and ask for help.
Other candidates were great fun, as was everyone I met at EY.
Clearly showed interest during the insight for improving our skills, but little was explained as to how to carry this on in future.
Saw the day-to-day tasks that employees undertake and was able to take part in some, though some of the placement was spent on role-playing and hypothetical situations.
Seems like lots of perks and benefits to a career at EY. They showed a great deal of 'community' activities like sports and volunteering that could be done through the company. The is fairly similar to the other big audit firms.
Gave a good insight in some aspects but was not enough to really understand what it's like to work at EY, and particularly why we should want to work there rather than the Deloitte for example.
Everything Else
Travel expenses were reimbursed and food was provided.
Good networking with other students on the insight and some with the EY employees, but was quite formal.
Good, but limited. This was again expected from such a short placement.
Sports, volunteering, hobbies, etc.
Useful, but I've heard that other ones are better.
