About You
The insight week was packed with panel sessions, presentations and exercises, which were all engaging and useful, meaning that there we were constantly occupied. The group was large at around 80 people which meant that I got to meet and interact with top students from around the EMEA region.
Throughout BAML put emphasis on how important they feel it is to develop individuals at the bank.
Employees from all divisions and levels of the Bank spent time talking to us and presenting to us which gave a really good all round view of the Bank. This even included a short talk from the President of the EMEA region, Alex Wilmot-Sitwell on the first morning. On the last evening everyone on the program were taken out to dinner by BAML, with over 40 bankers also attending allowing for us to talk to them at length in a more natural environment.
I doubt it will help me with my degree studies at all, however it does put me in a really good position in terms of applying to future internships and graduate programmes.
The Company
It worked smoothly with timings generally stuck too. BAML also organised us to see both of their London offices, in the City and in Canary Wharf, giving a good overview of their employees' experiences.
Despite some long days and challenging tasks, everyone on the programme was generally positive throughout, with HR being always friendly which produced a good atmosphere.
It was a short programme so there was little time for much development. Having said that they did organise presentations on things such as presentation skills and interview technique.
Almost as much as I think it could in one week.
The message on culture was clear and constant.
It confirmed my desire to join the industry and gave me information to pick a division within it.
Everything Else
For tube travel, and travel to and from London. Accommodation is provided for everyone that needs it.
At least once a day.
Extensive and enjoyable, networking always sounds like a chore, it shouldn't be.
It's not an industry where that is particularly important.
If they're interested in the industry then definitely.
