The Role
Very friendly and helpful staff, there were plenty of networking opportunities presented to us and the frequent seminars allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge and experience from areas not related to my division.
The people were the core reason for the reason the internship was an outstanding experience. Including me in client queries and solutions whenevr possible, taking me to client meetings, and including me in all social events made me feel like I was already a full time team member.
While management were constantly busy, there was always time made for me in assisting with my project and involving me in activities that I would be capable of understanding and would be of benefit to me.
As mentioned management were busy, and when arranging meetings with some of the very senior management, it took a while to get hold of them. Thus, there were times I would have to wait to hear back or wait for management to clear up their tasks. But there was never a time I had absolutely nothing to do. There was always opportunities for me to get involved in something - the flexibility was very beneficial.
Though I could not get involved in speaking directly to the clients, I was allowed to sit on meetings. My project was where I was given a majority of the responsibility. My project entailed being able to reshape the process behind the preparation and review of client meetings. The fact that I was given a project that could change the face of how things are done was very rewarding and a special experience.
The contact with senior management, client meetings, exposure to client queries, me taking charge of having to arrange meetings with other desks and many more were all great skills that I have developed and will no doubt be essential in any future career.
The Company
Very interactive, there is a very helpful environment where everyone is there to assist eachother when needed. As a client facing role, this nature has been maintained in the daily working environment. At the same time, everyone makes sure to get their tasks done.
We are informed well in advance of all social events, talks, training programmes and reviews. There werent any faults with regards to the organisation. I had a slight problem with my access pass but that was stayed quite quickly.
The talks and lunches were probided frequently. And online Compliance traning was there too.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing. The care for interns, friendly staff, availability of HR are all key and are all excellent. The turnover rate is supposedly very promising as long as you perform well and enjoy yourself.
The Culture
The HR organised events, graduates from my divisions, and even amongst the interns, social events were ongoing
Most places were quite costly, but you can tell the difference in quality. It is a trade off that you must make.
Though expenvie, there is a LOT of variety, being in central london this is expected. Always busy so it comes down to whether you like the busy life.
Gym, football, rugby, outreach events, referral events - there was a lot going on.
