About You
It was fantastic - a really valuable and worthwhile experience. Not only did it give me the opportunity to learn more about investment banking but also provided the chance to network with the senior management and meet team members from different divisions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have not have any similar experiences so I can honestly say it was the best work experience that I have had to date.
The management and staff were genuinely welcoming, willing to answer questions, listened to contributions and made the interns feel like part of the team. It was easy to interact and there were plenty of networking opportunities. I was made to feel like part of the BAML family.
Far more than I expected. Management and staff were open and honest about life with BAML, its business activities, their jobs and backgrounds. We were also given information about the application process and career choices.
It will undoubtedly assist me in my degree studies particularly the the guidance and training on presentation skills and networking. I feel far more confident about delivering presentations, applying for internships and graduate jobs. The emphasis on networking and opportunities presented to do this was really helpful.
The Company
Incredibly well structured - I did not expect my day to be so full or the week to go by so quickly. There were many excellent learning opportunities which enabled me to build on my understanding of BAML's business, the skills required of graduates and the profile of the organisation and its personnel. There was never a moment when there was no interaction with someone including during registration and lunch.
Relaxed and friendly - it was a good mix of formal and informal. Management and staff were very approachable. There was absolutely no tension. It was quite sad to say goodbye on the final day.
100% in the short space of time available. The focus on the training and development of soft skills specifically networking and presentation skills was very helpful. These skills are not taught at university.
To a limited extent as my understanding was gained through networking and employee presentations rather than direct first hand work experience. Given the time that available, this was not unreasonable.
The networking opportunities and employee presentations provided a very good insight into BAML culture. People are valued by the organisation. Personal development is a key part of the company culture. Employees spoke openly and honestly about their experiences.
The week has been incredibly helpful. I know what I do and don't want to do in terms of future career path.

I was really impressed by the number and variety of networking opportunities that were provided every day.
Excellent - employees were available on an informal and formal basis. The dinner was particularly well organised as staff rotated around the tables which was great for networking.
Yes - employees talked about their involvement with sports (I chatted to someone who is in a cycling club), diversity (I learned about the Disability Advocacy Group) and voluntary work (outreach projects with local schools).
It's a fantastic opportunity - everyone should give it a go.
