About You
Very enjoyable, mix of different types of sessions kept things interesting.
Many senior people came to speak to us, and professionals who took time out to let us work-shadow made us feel very valued.
Much, HR was always on hand to assist with any questions.
Business skills training was extremely useful, and knowledge of financial markets and structure of an investment bank were helpful in deepening my understanding of the industry.
The Company
Ran very smoothly, and there was the right amount and variety of activities to keep us stimulated.
Everyone was very enthusiastic, and energy levels were high. People were very interested and so many questions were asked.
Different training sessions were useful both in terms of hard knowledge and soft skills. Did case studies and a group project which were quite realistic and helped me to improve my business skills, as well as self-confidence.
2 work-shadowing opportunities helped to understand the specific roles and day-to-day job requirements. HR tried to match your preferences to areas as much as they could. Many chances to network and ask questions about the job.
Very much, integrity was highly emphasised and being able to speak to many employees helped me to get a feel of their culture. The tone of the company culture was set from the start as well. Company is very innovative and seeking to improve always.
In-depth explanations of different divisions, together work-shadowing and networking helped me to decide on a specific area I would be looking towards for my future career. HR is also on hand to answer questions and guide you along the way.
Everything Else
Paid, and covered expenses if coming from outside London.
Many graduate panels, speed-networking and social networking sessions. Could meet a wide variety of people, and those with international experiences or crossing over between divisions that were rather insightful.
Good, especially as the settings were generally relaxed and got to ask questions in a chill environment. First day was good just to get to know other spring interns better. People were very nice and open to questions, no matter how basic they were.
Several volunteering opportunities.
Yes, very well organised and fun, particularly with a corporate banking deal simulation that was highly interactive and challenging at the same time. This insight was particularly good also since they covered a variety of divisions that other houses may not cover eg. corporate banking, wealth and investment management, risk, treasury, which some people would not have been applying to had they not known.
