About You
It was very interesting, interactive and enjoyable - met some great people and found out in depth what barclays would be like to work in the future
They looked after us very much and valued our time
There was much guidance on hand during the time - we never felt like we lacked support.
We did have chances to develop skills and learn new things, however, having done previous spring weeks I did not learn anything too new.
The Company
Very well structured and organised
It was a very positive atmosphere, rather than too competitive like Id imagine other spring weeks being.
They provided us with skills workshops like presentation skills, and 'knowing your strenghts' workshops too. In addition, they gave us skills presentations for the assessment centre and showed us how to read the financial press most effectively.
we had 3 work shadowing placements, however it is very hard to see what a full time role would be like without actually doing the job.
Very much understood the company culture and its very important values.
Quite valuable, however, I am still quite confused since there are so many different types of jobs within each department!
Everything Else
Paid £250 for the week and accomodation was provided
One networking event with seniors of the firm, and a breakfast with a couple MDs in the specific division.
Overall three networking opportunities, plus networking within the spring week during lunch and breaks.
There are a few opportunities like volunteering
Lots of fun and very informative would definitely recommend doing to a friend.
