The Role
the placement is going ok, sometimes I'm a bit bored but it's a good experience.
all colleagues were nice, supportive, friendly, there for me. I'm glad I had such a good team.
Management are helpful and give me some good work to get on with.
Fairly busy - sometimes no work. But I find stuff to keep me occupied like reading or touring the site!
I wasn't really given any responsibility, however I think I will have some on a grad scheme if I reapply.
What I've learnt should help me for the future. Some of the non-engineering stuff (like teaching me finance) may have been a waste of time...
The Company
Friendly office, always people to talk to. Move around the site a lot and meet new staff.
Setup well - knew who I was at least! Manager not always in, other students sometimes "skive-off". But its ok.
Some training was provided - mostly online which isn't very appealing.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
They like taking previous students/those with experience. Hence I'll have a good chance.
The Culture
This was the best bit: I got on well with other students and we still go out a lot, particularly at weekends.
Bristol is ok, average really. Shared with three others, total cost £225 each.
Quite a bit to do - not by Rolls Royce but in the Mall/town.
Occassionally, the company would organise a party every quarter. Otherwise, I just went out with other students.
