About You
The Citi Quest programme was extremely enjoyable and truly did offer a unique work-shadowing experience.
Everyone was so unbelievably welcoming; after only spending a week there I felt I built some good relationships with numerous people.
The guidance and support was definitely there when needed and we were all individually given a 'buddy' to ensure that. For me, the amount of guidance was just right; not too much, not too little. I like my independence and I loved that when we were in our business area there was flexibility on the specific desks you could sit with.
Seeing first-hand the effects the economy has on the Markets has helped expand my knowledge so much further and I have developed the key skills, both soft and specific to the business area, that will be vital for my future career endeavors.
The Company
At the beginning of the insight we were given a clear schedule of what the week will consist of. There was less structure while working within the business area, however this allows you to concentrate your time to more specific areas where your personal interests lie, or explore a wider variety depending on what you feel is best for you.
The people at Citi were great and all added to the light-hearted atmosphere. Of course their role is very serious, but it is clear that everyone loves their job.
A many number of employees took time out of their day to: explain their role; the processes involved; and to help develop my knowledge in that area.
The unique work-shadowing experience allowed me to gain a good understanding of what a full time role would consist of.
The company culture is extremely apparent at Citi and the insight is the best way to experience and understand it.
The insight confirmed my passion for the Markets and has helped me focus my career path even more specifically.
Everything Else
One of the best opportunities this insight gave was the chance to network with so many different people from lots of business areas.
There were plenty of opportunities to meet people, including a scheduled social event at a bar in Shoreditch; with employees, class mates from Citi Quest, and others who were on the Woman of Tomorrow programme.
There are plenty of activities available for employees; of which I heard about a few from the insight, and others I read about from the Website.
Overall, the Citi Quest insight is an amazing experience and I would 100% recommend it to a friend.
