About You
Considering it was simply am insight week, shadowing a graduate, I was exposed to many different aspects of the job. My graduate put a lot if thought and effort into the responsibilities he gave me, the tasks I undertook, and the projects I went to visit.
The entire Savills office, not just the people within my department were really friendly and approachable. I met lots of different people over the course of the week.
THe directors within my team took the time to sit down with me and go through the job role and aspects of the job they were currently working on.
As a non-cognate, it was a great insight but there are still many aspects of real estate that I need to explore and skills I need to build upon.
The Company
The presentations throughout the week were very helpful, unfortunately I could not attend them all.
Very positive atmosphere from the other students on the programme and the Savills employees generally. A great atmosphere in the Savills Margaret street office!
As a non-cognate, it was a brilliant insight but I didn't really get the chance to develop a deep understanding. But I can understand that that would require a lot of time from the firm.
There are still other paths within real estate that I want to explore but it has definitely made me realise I want a career in the property industry.
Everything Else
I always find a buffet lunch difficult for networking.
I understand there are activities available, e.g. a Savills hockey team, but I am not aware of the extent of the activities on offer.
