About You
It was very interesting, especially the case studies, but sometimes there was one talk after the other which - although I value the time senior people made for us highly - made it a bit hard to stay focused at times!
As mentioned quite senior people came to talk to us, which made my group and me feel valued. The reason why I did not give 10/10 stars is that I felt we were very many people - about 200 in total and maybe 40 in my group, which made it harder to build personal relationships.
I felt well guided throughout my internship, the HCM-team did an amazing job. Only in some of the group works I felt a bit lost, expecially when some people seemed to know exactly what had to be done - while trying to learn from them I also wanted to do my part of the group's workload which wasn't always easy to balance.
I did pick up quite a bit of theoretical knowledge but as it lasted only two weeks I did not change severly on a personal level / developed many new habits.
The Company
We always knew when to be where - the only deduction I would have to give is that the 2 weeks were partly seperated in aquiring theoretical knowledge and working on case studies - I personally feel that mixing it up a bit more would make things more interesting.
As I previously mentioned the talks sometimes got a bit dull, but when thinking of my colleagues I must say they were all very nice and interesting people with whom I had more in common than initialy expected.
As it was an Insight we did not bring the firm any money but instead were invested in - starting with the theoretical training over to networking lunches and ending with talks of quite senior people.
I think I understood how it would be working for the firm, but did not get a full insight into how it would be working in the specific branche I was interested in due to compliance issues, which hindered us from seeing the day to day tasks of e.g. an analyst.
We had quite a lot of contact to full-time employees and through talking to them found out more about the company culture. I cannot however comment on the lived company culture (opposed to the written and explained one) as I did not get to see, as I said, the actual workplace and work ethic, therefore I do not know wether the written/explained/lived company cultures are all the same.
Although I found the case studies very interesting and believe that this branche matches with quite a lot of the criteria on my check-list, I still am not sure whether this is the one branche that I should choose.
Everything Else
If you are not more than just a bit interested in the branche I think this is not the right choice for you but if you are indeed considering this as a career I think it is a great opportunity to get a first insight and foot into the door!
