About You
The Company
In the two weeks I was there, the firm invested greatly in us by hiring the same consultant from AMT that they use to train their analysts with for a whole two days. They also had analysts from several groups in IBD drop by and help us with our group presentations.
Very much. I got the opportunity to talk to people from almost every group in IBD and ask them what it was like working there.
Very much. We had talks almost every day from managing directors and a lot of networking sessions, which all gave the opportunity to understand what it was like working at the firm.
I think the content was definitely helpful in presenting investment banking as an attractive career option. We had the opportunity to speak to anyone ranging from analysts to managing directors and partners, asking them any questions we would like.
Everything Else
I was paid.
We had the opportunity to network and meet other employees almost every day.
I found the networking events very useful. There tended to be a good ratio of employees to interns, and so I would rarely find myself standing around a table with more than four people.
It was definitely a question I could have asked (and did ask on occasions), however, I think the two weeks were more targeted at learning the culture of the bank and what a typical day looks like.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend or anyone that wants to gain exposure to what it is like working in an investment bank. I found the internships very informative and useful, and on top of that, it lasted for a whole two weeks, giving me the time to really build a connection with both the interns and employees.
