About You
Various activities throughout the programme. very well-planned.
There are many networking events so sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming as you meet so many people in a very short period of time but they assigned everyone a buddy who is your personal contact if I have any questions or problems. They all sit down for a coffee or short chat to meet in person and get to know each other better!
HR is always around to support/guide you if you need any help (although I've never been in a situation where I needed any help as everything was very well planned and we were all well-informed what to expect!)
We received technical training at the beginning which was very helpful when working on group projects later on.
The Company
HR couldn't have done it any better. The programme was very well organised and punctual. There were networking opportunities, gorup projects, presentations, and social events. all very well planned.
Amazing speakers throughout the programme which made the programme incredibly fun and enjoyable.
I felt GS invests a lot on employees' development and skills. They even hired an external trainer to develop our technical skills even if we were just spring interns.
Although we had lots of networking opportunities to get an idea what it is like working at GS IBD, we didn't have any work shadowing for security reasons, which is completely understandable given we were just 2-weeks spring interns. There were 4 group projects which provided opportunities to learn more about what it is like to have a full time role.
There were so many opportunities to talk to people from various teams and sectors, which was helpful to get a sense of the overall company culture which I found quite unique compared to other investment banks I've seen.
Everything Else
Better paid than any other investment banks that organise spring programmes.
Literally everyday. from analysts to MDs.
Networking events were organised in different formats each time (breakfast, lunch, round table discussions, speednetworking, drinks in the evening and etc)
Work/life balance is one of the most frequent topics came out during the networking events. I heard quite a few stories about what they usually do outside of work.
Absolutely.
