The Role
A fantastic placement. A very involved job with high levels of detail. Hard work at times however very rewarding.
I felt like a member to of the team, both within the four person working team and the greater department.
A great level of guidance throughout. Regular meeting with my line manager to discuss how i was handling the role as well as time to discuss personal development, looking at improving skills and prospects for a future caree
Some days were a lot busier than others, but I never felt bored.
I really appreciated the amount of responsibility I was given. It helped me to learn so much more than I'd expected.
From the high level of responsibility, fast paced demanding work environment and projects i was given to manage i have really had to push myself this year and in the process gained a huge amount of new skills as well as developing others significantly. Those who thrive in fast paced environments and want to really push themselves and be given real responsibilities and deliver real value to a business won't be disappointed with this placement.
The Company
A typical business office. A focus on getting the work done and getting the correct results. However with a level of openness which encourages open communication without intimidation.
Good structure throughout the process. The business is set up for Undergraduates and postgraduates being a key part of teams and departments rather than a last minute addition.
Lots of courses to develop skills and personal career goals. You are able to access the same courses as all full time employees.
Company Car
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Good feedback and review and encouragement to apply to the Graduate scheme
The Culture
Good social environment with great people. Living with fellow students who work within the same building but for different departments or brand meant you are not spending too much time with anybody, a good balance.
It is expensive and over half your wage packet but I never felt I struggled! You just have to resist eating out every night and going to the most expensive bars!
It was great. Again, it was expensive and you have to resist eating out every night.
There wasn't necessarily loads of activities organised by the company, however different people within the business organised things such as the girls in the office running 10k for Race For Life and I went on many theatre visits with some of the girls!
