About You
Very insightful introduction to both the legal market and the firm itself. Was certainly not a chore to come in each day!
Unquestionably one of the approachable firms in the legal market. Was made to feel completely welcome and felt like I could approach anyone and everyone in the firm. Even the partners!
Fully supported during all aspects. In the capable hands of HR in the mornings then with some great trainees throughout the afternoon. Very enjoyable and structured.
The scheme is primarily designed to help with summer Vac schemes and a career in law, and as such the skills learnt with regards to the application process will certainly prove invaluable. A really thorough introduction to both a legal career and getting a summer vac scheme itself.
The Company
Very well thought out and planned day. Structured from the outset
Very good for the most part, however there were occasional talks which were perhaps not quite as interesting as others. This given, a very light atmosphere for the most part.
Very generous allowance, but more than this, got the impression that they were looking to invest in us in effectively giving us a job. They strongly encouraged us to apply for Hogan Lovells programmes and the mock interview practices really helped to this effect I think.
Quite well however I think we were limited by the times of the placement. We had a very good insight however only got to spend 3 or so hours with trainees each day. It sounds like a lot but the time just flew by so perhaps extending this may be something to look into?
You can't really get a sense of the culture from an open day / website. The only way to do so is to actually go into the firm, and having done so I can honestly say they are absolutely lovely.
I know exactly what I want to do and what kind of firm I want to work for as a result of this placement!
Everything Else
£150 is more than generous for this kind of scheme - would have been quite happy to do it for free / pay for it!!
Lunches and partner dinner as well as a personal mentor. Excellent level of networking if you took advantage of it
Perhaps there could have been a few more intern based social events (i.e. just us) to get to know each other better but we did this ourselves! - overall very very good
Heard a lot about the opportunities available including the 'lovelies' football team!
no hesitation in recommending this to anyone and everyone
