About You
Everyone I came across was friendly, encouraging and willing to help. The work I received was interesting and on the whole I was able to get involved in real client work. The trainees made a real effort to make sure the scheme was enjoyable by attending socials. The trip to the Paris office was a great opportunity to get to know trainees, other people on the placement and graduate recruitment.
I felt valued at the firm.
If I required any assistance with the work I was completing I felt that I could ask people in each department that I experienced. Everyone understood that occasional guidance would be required when working on unfamiliar projects.
The scheme offered an insight into how a law firm works and what type of work each department undertakes. The research skills I developed at the firm will be particularly useful.
The Company
The scheme could not have been structured or organised any better. A good balance between time spent in departments and social events.
Everyone at the firm was friendly and the atmosphere at the firm was enjoyable to be a part of. Even when people were clearly busy they would make the effort to talk to you and help if required.
The sheme did not contain many training/development presentations.
Sitting in different departments gave me the opportunity to see what everyday life working at the firm was like.
Spending plenty of time in each departments and meeting many trainees allowed me to see the company culture first hand. Everyone works hard, but is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Completing trainee tasks and interacting with people of every level in each department gave me an insight into what the role of a trainee entails.
Everything Else
I was paid a salary each week.
There were plenty of socials for people on the scheme where we could meet trainees and associates. Partners would occasionally give me work and would make an effort to chat to me.
The socials were excellent. We went out for a few meals, went bowling and had a day trip to the Paris office.
Not really, although this information would have been available if I had enquired.
Definitely, it was a combination of insightful and fun.
