About You
Really enjoyable week.
Obviously you're not going to feel like family if you're only there for a week, but regardless everyone was made to feel very welcome and appreciated within the firm. If the internship had been for a longer duration, this rating would be higher.
We had hours of classes and training before we did desk rotations (sales and trading), so we were well trained and supported. If you ever needed anything you were always encouraged to ask.
I learned more in a week at the firm than I did last term in university.
The Company
Very well structured.
Intense, always busy. The whole thing is really a test, you are constantly being watched and judged as to how you'd fit in at the firm. The atmosphere is thus competitive in a sense, but the group I was in fit together very well, everyone made friends very quickly and the majority of people seemed to have a good time.
If you show a willingness to learn, the firm will do everything possible to teach you.
You work with people who have a full time role at the firm, of course you gain an understanding.
The firm's emphasis on teamwork and partnership definitely comes through in everything they do.
Very useful
Everything Else
Flights and accommodation are covered by the firm.
The week is one big networking opportunity.
Very beneficial, quite a big turn out from all sides of the firm, so you get the chance to talk to loads of different people.
Yes, there was a big emphasis on this, the firm really wanted to see every side of you.
Definitely.
