About You
I really, really enjoyed the Spring Insight Programme at J.P.Morgan in London because it was interesting, informative and fun at all times. We learned a lot by listening to J.P.Morgan employees speak about their experiences and different important topics related to investment banking and risk. Everyone I met throughout the week was kind and engaging, which made it an incredibly enjoyable experience. The organised networking sessions for us with analysts and associates, which was a very valuable experience because we were able to gain first hand information about the firm's culture.
I felt very valued during my time at the company because the Graduate Recruitment team put an incredible amount of effort into the organisation of the week. They knew almost all our names and responded to any questions. For a lot of the speeches that we were listening to, the Q&A session was longer than the actually speech, which showed us that they value our questions and opinions.
I think there was not a lot of guidance and support needed during insight because everything was so incredibly well planned. However we were all assigned a personal mentor, who was able to answer any questions at (almost) any time. Additionally we were assigned another mentor for our group project, who took more than 8 hours of her time to help us with our project. I was in constant contact with both my mentors and they were always happy to help.
Of course it is hard to learn life-changing skills within only one week, however I think I have never learned that much in a week. I learned a lot about the structure of investment banks and by completing the group case study we were assigned.
The Company
As mentioned above, the insight was incredibly well structured. There is nothing I would change about it.
Both J.P.Morgan employees and other Spring Week attendees created an impressive atmosphere. Employees were always kind and engaging, while attendees were always motivated and eager to learn and participate. All in all, an incredible week.
They invested a lot of time and money into our training and the overall experience. We were lectured and mentored by J.P.Morgan employees of different departments.
I now have a much better understanding of what a full time role would be like, mainly because we were able to do so much networking with analysts and associates but also because a lot of the speakers focused on this.
It was very important in forming my (positive) view of the company culture.
Very valuable. We obviously had to make an initial decisions by choosing the investment baking spring week, but it was important in deciding which group to join within investment banking and/or risk.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for all expenses and we stayed at a very nice hotel.
There were around 1-2 time slots allocated simply for networking with other employees at the firm. It was extremely valuable.
Very well organised and very informative.
Yes! I still have a list of all the activities employees can get involved in and a lot of the speakers mentioned what activities they were involved in.
100%!! It was an incredible week and I would recommend, even hope for any friend to have the opportunity to experience this.
