About You
Learned a lot in one week. I am now sure which role at the bank I want to pursue.
There was high focus on values and employees demonstrated them.
Employees really took time to answer our questions and help us with anything we needed.
It was overall very helpful. I learned very much and improved my presentation and speaking skills.
The Company
Excellent structure, very busy days, I hardly had any time to sleep.
Everyone was very friendly and collegiate and I think that Barclays has a terrific culture.
They really tried to give us good understanding of various roles and help us prepare for the assessment centre, technical questions and presentations.
Networking with employees was invaluable for understanding how working full time would look like.
Much emphasis was put in promoting values and meeting employees who were really honest about the culture, both good and bad side.
Very valuable, although some days were more relevant than other days for me personally.
Everything Else
250 GBP was paid after the spring week to cover the expenses during the week and travel expenses up to 300 GBP were covered by the company. Accommodation was also provided.
We received our own business cards and were given business cards of the employees that we networked with during the spring week. Some of them, who were not busy, were happy to meet for a coffee or chat after the programme.
Networking/social event on the was good, but the best part was work shadowing with employees. We also had speed networking sessions and toured trading floor and other parts of the building which was great to see.
Yes, many of them were into this new "values system", some were part of LGBT, Veterans, Disabled or other groups. Most of the employees were active in some charitable organisation etc.
Definitely, it is a solid learning curve, process is pretty straightforward, people are friendly, and future opportunities look great. There is also much internal mobility.
