About You
Fantastic chance to shadow one of the senior partners in the firm, unique chance to attend meetings about high level issues that a usual internship wouldn't introduce you to. I felt the week gave me a good insight into what a career at PwC would entail.
I felt I did some work that was useful to the company but as the purpose of the week was shadowing I do not think the aim was to feel "valued."
Both the Senior Associate and Senior Partner that I shadowed gave me very useful guidance as to what a graduate role at PwC would entail and the best ways to progress in the company.
Useful information to know prior to starting a graduate scheme with the firm, generally improved my business and finance understanding.
The Company
The Senior Partner I shadowed was very busy and frantic but shadowing a Senior Associate for two out of the five days was very well organised and useful.
The office operates a hot desk system and felt very empty while I was there but I think that may have been an unusual week.
The purpose of the partner shadowing week was not for this.
I gained a good understand of what the role of an auditor entails and how the graduate scheme works. I also learnt about the employee appraisal and feedback scheme and understood a lot more about career progression within the firm.
I feel spending a week in the office was enough time to gain an insight for the work hard, but be rewarded for working hard, nature of the firm.
Spending the five days in the office learning about the auditor job role made me decide to continue with a grad scheme within Assurance at PwC.
Everything Else
Very good pay for the week.
The office wasn't very busy during the week that I was there but everyone I did speak to was very friendly and gave useful insights into their PwC experience
I was very lucky to get to go to the "South West Business Awards" during my Partner Shadowing week which was a fantastic networking opportunity.
Did not get chance to learn about this
I have recommended all the opportunities PwC offer for undergraduates and graduates to friends. All my experiences of the firm have been positive.
