About You
The programme overall is mediocre. I have to fly to Edinburgh to attend the insight programme and cannot get all my travelling expenses reimbursed. There are also some organisational issues during the event.
Deloitte representatives are patient and helpful when answering questions.
We did some skill sessions during the insight, some are helpful but most ones are boring and not useful.
They are not useful for my studies in school, but may be helpful when pursuing jobs in the future.
The Company
The structure was fine; however Deloitte ignored the fact that most people are interested in consulting and made us listen to a lot of business areas that no one actually paid attention to.
Compared to my previous Spring Week, the atmosphere at Deloitte is a little bit dull.
One lady from Penny and Blake came and gave a speech, which was not helpful at all. Later some members of the company gave us an interview session, which was helpful.
From what I have heard, the work-life balance at Deloitte is very nice.
The speeches given by Deloitte representatives were helpful.
Everything Else
Before the event, they told us that we can get 50pounds reimbursement at most. However, on the last day I heard that someone said that they can get 100. I sent an email to the guy who is supposed to be in charge of the programme but has never showed up and he said that unless I have special circumstances I can only get 50. However, now in the follow-up communications, they are sending information claiming that we can get 100. It is too much trouble to refill the expense form and post it the their office now. Not a very pleasant experience.
One networking dinner, that is it.
Deloitte representatives from different divisions rotated around the tables during the dinner, which seemed to be really tiresome for them. But I got to ask questions that I am interested about and had a nice dinner!
We heard about a cycle fund raising event from a partner.
It will be useful if you are interested in Auditing, Corporate Finance, Consulting, Taxes, and Auditory Advisory. It is relatively easy to apply and you can get fast tracked to the summer internship interview, which saved you a lot of trouble next year!
