About You
There was a fair mixture of realistic graft and actual work which was both creative and interesting.
It was obvious that a lot of effort was put into the organisation of the scheme.
On the one hand there was always someone to ask when you needed it. On the other hand there were times when you were given something to do and had to get on with it (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!).
The experience was less about degree-relevant skills and more about experiencing CMcK's environment and atmosphere.
The Company
Everything was well structured.
Friendly and interesting, again with realistic amounts of hard work.
There were a number of skills-related workshops which were helpful.
Getting thrown in at the deep end (even only on limited numbers of tasks) was an eye-opener.
Seeing people act normally in their normal environment is probably the best way of understanding a firm's culture.
Workshops and work combined to give us plenty to think about and good insight.
Everything Else
£250/week for two weeks (£500).
If you wanted to get involved there were opportunities to get involved.
Well organised, well chosen and good fun. Probably shouldn't have had one the night before partner interviews though!
One CSR presentation (well-delivered) but only 4 spaces on 1 CSR project was a shame, although I believe the timing of the insight fell poorly in this regard.
Definitely. Valuable experience, good insight into the firm and their culture, and a good one for realism as well.
