About You
Everyone was very accommodating and friendly, and always willing to answer any questions.
We were often in talks, seminars and social events, and when we did have free time we spent it in an office with an associate completing a project.
We were supported by an associate and a trainee, and everyone in the office was willing to help with any problems.
We received valuable information about all of the practice areas at the firm, from both trainees, associates and partners. We developed skills through completing the project which was useful in replicating the kind of work a trainee does.
The Company
We were given a timetable for the week which provided details of everything we would be participating in.
The atmosphere was very friendly and supportive.
We sat with an associate for the entire week and had a current trainee who was there to help with any problems. We were involved with social events and had many talks and presentations during the week.
We were able to speak with a range of people from all levels of the firm about their work and what makes the firm different from its competitors.
We were able to gain first-hand experience in an office at the firm to see what its working culture was like. We were also able to ask a number of people working there about their experiences at the firm.
We learnt a lot about the firm and what it takes to be a commercial lawyer.
Everything Else
We all received payment for the week to cover our expenses.
We had 2 specific social events. We also spent a number of hours with associates and trainees in the office, there were also many opportunities to speak to trainees throughout the week, particularly in presentations and during the lunches the firm provided.
The first event was drinks with people who work at the firm, the second event was a meal at a lovely restaurant where we were seated with both trainees and a partner from the firm.
There are many sports teams at the firm which I got chance to ask the trainees about. We also learned about the volunteering work they are involved with.
Yes it was a great experience and we gained a lot of information which will be very useful in the future.
