The Role
The placements with the company are great and feedback from other interns was really positive but overall I was not quite suited to my job role so this is where it could be improved upon.
My team were really great and so friendly. they dotn really treat you like an intern, more like a normal employee
I was in a european team so unfortunately there could have been more support as there were few of my colleagues based in the same office as me. However when I did have catch up with my managers, there were really good at checking to see how I was.
There was such a variety of workloads throughout the year. Overall through. there were probably more days when I was bored than busy.
There were some projects I was given more responsibility than others. Occasionally I would just shadow my manager with a project.
Im really glad I have done this industrial placement even though there had been some negative aspects. Overall I now have that experience that many other people will not have.
The Company
General open plan office but I sat with a great, lively team which helped a lot.
for my particular placement, there could have been more structure. the role lacked any sort of work routine.
There was loads of online training you could do when you liked.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Working from home
There is a great opportunity to rejoin after university onto the graduate scheme.
The Culture
There was a great social community with the interns as there were so many based in the Bracknell office. This definitely helped increase enjoyment of the placement year..
Reading living is pretty standard for a uni town. London would be more expensive, especially if you commuted but costs over the year were generally ok.
If you got involved in the Reading Student nights out, they were good. It was quieter when the Uni students werent around.
Lots of Intern socials and football team for the boys. Also lots of charity work including an intern organised Three Peaks Challenge.
