About You
The PwC Talent Academy was an amazing event; although we were constantly assessed throughout the Academy, I did not feel any pressure (except perhaps, the numerical test). It was more of a mock/real assessment centre sort of programme with a more friendly atmosphere. So besides the case studies and psychometric tests, we also had a lot of time to learn more about the company (networking, with 2 free drinks each night), the other participants (we were shuffled around into different groups), and what PwC did (case studies).
Although they were all just case studies and not actual work, it was still interesting to see what PwC has their hands in. The group(s) I was in really worked together to form a strong conclusion/ recommendation and it was a pleasure to work with them.
Although it was quite last minute, PwC has very supportive in providing me with the facilities I needed (I am disabled) and was very fast in responding to my queries.
The Talent Academy is very useful to find out how an assessment centre is run and their feedback provides you with a platform for self-improvement. However, we didn't learn a lot about what PwC does other than the insights gained from the case studies and networking event. So we did not learn much about the office environment and etc
The Company
The event was really well run. All the events were on time and we were always given feedback on how well we had done- which is really good for self-improvement!
There was never a dull moment throughout the Talent Academy! It was a really refreshing experience and you get to meet like-minded and enthusiastic people from all over the world.
We were really well provided for throughout the Talent Academy- from the large rooms, good food, personal branding sessions, and etc
As we were not based in a PwC office, it would be difficult to say that I'd know what it'd be like to work with them. However, some insight was gained while talking to the Partners and other representatives during the networking session.
It is clear that PwC values transparency and driven people who are willing to go the next step- from the people you meet, to how and why the activities are conducted.
As I already knew what I want to do, PwC did not help me decide on my future career path. However, my decision was reaffirmed after talking to them.
Everything Else
And if you arrive on a specific time, there would be a shuttle bus from the train station to the internship site (it's an on-site event so you need to stay there during the duration of the Academy).
We had a lot of time to interact with the HR and Graduate Recruitment team; who were all really friendly. We also had a networking dinner with many of the partners. It was structured in such a way so that the representatives rotated tables (so we could meet more people).
We were even given drink vouchers!
While talking to the representatives, I found out that PwC allows their employees to take leave to do CSR work and other projects, which is something I intend to do in the future.
Definitely! The benefits of getting the Talent Academy are amazing; both during and post event. You will even get extra guidance on psychometric tests and assessment centres after the Academy if needed.
