    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • There were many afternoons spent photocopying which did get quite tedious. However, people were really friendly and nice.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People were really nice and welcoming. But there were times when they were so busy that they just ignored you, which is understandable!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Felt like I was thrown in at the deep end at times when i was given work with little explanation but just expected to know what to do. At other times, management would spend time explaining stuff clearly to me.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Not too busy at all. Did get a bit busy at times.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Gained a lot of knowlege but again, too much time spent photocopying.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I've been to friendlier law firms...

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Could have been better- career presentations by lawyers were mostly ill-prepared. But the placement as a whole was well structured with lots of variety.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • At times they spent time teaching me stuff, but at others it felt they were just too busy for me.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Tough competition for jobs and they made that clear.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Was good if you played football and could join the football team. For non sporty people, less so...but there were 2 good social nights organised for us.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • They didnt provide parking...ended up paying £60 just on parking.

    2/5

  • Had some v good nights and good value for money

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Only if you were sporty really...and in particular football.
