About You
The programme gave a good overview of both the industry and Towers Watson, which was the reason for my application.
I was paid a lot of attention by employees in the networking session over lunch.
The games set out by the firm was very well explained and gave an insight into industry specific terms.
Both relevant vocabulary and skills were developed over the day long programme which will certainly be beneficial in the long run.
The Company
Though the programme overran slightly, what doesn't? What was needed was more breaks to separate the long sessions; TW did however say they will address this issue in further programmes.
Most applicants were very shy and only a few stood out. The employees, however, did their best to address this issue and offered a lot of verbal guidance.
It felt like we were thrown in the deep end, however I do realise there is a steep learning curve; though I couldn't sense the firm spending a lot of time "training" us.
Unfortunately, my reply to this question may or may not be reflective of the how useful the Insight was. The employees only spoke about the positives about their respective roles. This may be because there may only exist positives but I highly doubt that. However it may be the case that they may have spoke about negatives but they weren't as bad as I had expected.
Very well. I think this was one of main goals of their programme.
They gave an accurate representation of how the industry works and how it compares with others in the finance sector.
Everything Else
I select that I was reimbursed only because they have promised this. It is nearly one week afterwards and I have not been reimbursed. This may be because it is bank holiday weekend and thus not a major problem.
Yes during lunch. High employee to applicant ratio.
Though there were many employees, I found that during the lunch hour is a bad time for networking since applicants went hungry for about 5 hours before having to make the choice between eating comfortably, stuffing their face and hoping to network a little, and going hungry and being able to converse freely.
They mentioned the brand ambassador programme they were desperate for people to take up. The firm also told us about their undergraduate opportunities.
Fantastic opportunity with the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the firm and the industry.
