The Role
I found my experience enjoyable and the work was challenging at times.
I felt part of the team and a valued member of our team.
Guidance was there when I asked for it.
Most of the time I was busy but after month end close down it was always quiet for a few days.
As my placement went on I was given more and more responsibility.
I have been able to develop existing skills and acquire new ones. I feel the placement will show a real improvement for my final year.
The Company
People were friendly and got along well. But when it was time to do work everyone had their heads down.
It was quite well organised however there could be more events involving the other placement students in the area. I wasn't treated as a placement student but but as another member of staff.
I had the opportunity to go on courses and events. There is a finance skills development website which is available for staff to develop their personal portfolios.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
The graduate scheme is of interest of me. Also I have been told that if I wish to come back a job would be available for me.
The Culture
I was the only student in my office but there were 2 others in different offices. Events were organised to meet other placement students from different trusts which was good. I have made a few friends from that.
Well I commuted from Leeds and travelled by car and in the summer by train. It wasn't expensive to travel or socialise. I was able to save money for next year.
As good as it's always been!
There were a few activities organised but they were often arranged in York which is further than I would want to travel.
